Sound Site is a series of site-specific interactive sound installations that explore the relationship between the body and spatial perception. As participants enter the installation, they become an integral part of the work: the changing distance between their bodies and the sensors is immediately translated into corresponding sound outputs, making sound a direct response to bodily movement.
The installation’s unstable flooring acts as a disruption to perception, prompting participants to become aware of shifts in their habitual behaviors. This leads them to engage with the space through non-ordinary postures, encouraging a reconsideration of their position within the environment and how they interact with it.
Throughout the exhibition, the installation continuously records participants’ movements, gradually producing a durational sound archive co-created by people and space. This evolving archive reveals the interrelations between sound, body, sensory experience, and environment, constructing a site-specific practice rooted in the immediacy of the present moment.
